Live AllSky Animation

This animation and images are being generated by ImAdjSoft, coordinated with CCDSoft by the ImAdjSoftCCD camera event plugin. The plugin schedules an SBIG 237-based allsky camera to take images at night and incorporates a number of parameters for flexible operation .

In this live example, the plugin automatically starts imaging at precalculated local Sunset plus a 45 minute offset to avoid imaging while it is still too light. The plugin takes images and updates the online animation until local sunrise less 45 minutes, when the cooler is turned off and the next local schedule is calculated. Finally the plugin waits until the next start period to commence imaging again.

Here, the automatically generated web interface is setup to check for new images once every minute, updating the animation as needed. The animation cycle is determined by the number of images and the animation speed, both setup in ImAdjSoft. Here, the cycle covers 15 minutes which is made up of 15 images, each a 5 second exposures followed by a 50-second delay. Or, one 5 second image per minute. The animation is being played back at 2 frames per second with a 3 second delay on the last frame, which is always the most recent image. All of these paramaters are configureable in the software.
